That's right, just try to keep your stoic face...

As we are driving in the car a child is screaming, "she wiped her boogers on me!". The other retorted, "she farted and it is stinky"  As I reprimanded the one child, my wife chimes in, "that is so wrong" while chocking back a laugh. Sometimes I find that the toughest things are trying to draw boundaries for the kids. But they are so freaking funny. Often I think of the rotten things I did to my own siblings. Whether it was convincing them to let me be the "bank" and holding on to all their pennies that they forgot about, or explaining that it was my turn to pick the movie or game again, despite them insisting it was their turn.

Also it is interesting to see our parents listen to what our children do. I explained such a moment when disciplining our son, and his Grandpa Dan started laughing out loud. I could only imagine him thinking, "I am glad to hear you have to deal with that and not me."

I guess until my kids are having kids I must practice my Stoic face till then.

(for those who don't know the picture this is the character Stoick the Vast from 'How to Train a Dragon' which is well worth the watch).
