Merry Christmas, you filthy animal...

We all have struggles in our lives. In this phase of Naomi and my life, keeping up with cleaning, dishes, laundry, and all other thing we must do is very hard while we both work full time.

But several day's ago I spent 3 hours and got our house 1/2 the way clean, including my room.

Then our precious girl walks into our bedroom, plops down on the bed and looks at me. With a cheery tone and inquisitive voice she asked, " Daddy, why is your room clean?".

Ah, epic failure. My kids don't ask my why my room is messy, but rather, why in the world the room is clean. The bar is so low in my family LOL. So off to finish what I have started. May you all have a bright and Merry Christmas (and hopefully a clean one :-)

The mess means I'm happy

It has been quite some time since I have last written and a lot of good, interesting, and disappointing things have happened. But lets start with today. That seems like a lovely place to start...

I looked around my apartment and saw a huge mess. Normally I would have felt some sort of anxiety and frustration, especially having spent so much time cleaning the last two days.

But rather than feeling depressed, angry, or anything else I felt happy. Why?

The massive mess in my home means that everyone is still here with me. The tea cup on the counter indicates my sister is still living here. The two girls a sleep on the couch means its nap time

Hyrum and Adele were with Beka running around outside and Naomi was napping. I am grateful that right now we have everyone here even if it makes a little bit of mess along the way. Plus if life didn't have messes, then what would I do all day?
