It is Christmas Day, The last few weeks have been very busy. Oddly enough after 8 years of marriage, we finally got Christmas cards for all our friends and family. They are still sitting in an envelope in our house. :-)
Also for the first time in our marriage Naomi and I both took vacation the whole Christmas week. It, so far, has been amazing to spend so much time with family.
Last night Santa came very late. I stayed up trying to cook a "simple" breakfast. Naomi found a crock pot recipe for french toast. Needless to say 4 1/2 hours on high and that thing was far beyond edible. Not a single child would eat it, even with syrup.
So we did the only thing exhausted parents do. My wife went to bed and I let my children eat all they candy they wanted. My 18 month year old did ask for a yogurt, which I gave her. Funny story, that ended up all over the carpet. The joke was on me.
Tonight we went to see "grandma puppies". We had a wonderful time. Both Naomi and I took naps at some point. We got home and put the kids to bed. Naomi and I were falling asleep watching a show and all the sudden Hyrum woke saying he felt sick.
He came out, I got him a bowl, just in case he needed to throw up. The moment I gave him the bowl he threw up something that resembled a whole days worth of candy. It was more like candy cane colored.
I told Hyrum to sit next to mom. She was watching Warehouse 13. In the episode a person was murdered in the opening scene. He immediately asked, "did he die?". Not wanting to freak him out Naomi says with all the confidence of a sage, "No. He got sucked into the ground and is now enjoying hot chocolate and cake with his friends in an underground house."
Immediately after this statement, the main character declares, "Wow, that guy is totally dead." The only thing I could do is laugh and think how ironic.
